About Us

Western Port Community Support (WPCS) is a not for profit community based service essentially offering emergency relief and support for those who find themselves in short term crisis.  We are based in the new Peninsula Community Health Complex at 185 High Street Hastings.

Established as a Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) in 1979 by a small group of concerned citizens, the WPCS has become a much needed and valued asset within our community.

Operating in partnership with other community and charitable groups plus local and national Government agencies, we currently support a workforce of four paid professional staff and over 40 trained volunteers.

Major funding is provided by the Mornington Peninsula Shire who also provide our premises as part of the new Hastings complex.  Funding for emergency relief is supplied by the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs, supplemented by donations from philanthropic trusts, churches, businesses and charitable organisations.

We pride ourselves on providing a caring and unbiased one on one service to the hundreds of clients who pass through our doors each year.

With the continuing and rapid growth of the Western Port area there is an ever increasing demand for emergency support services across a wide range of social-economic groups within our community.

WPCS is dedicated to continue to provide these vital community services.
